Something I Love About my Daughter

The one I am thinking of today is her eating habits. She loves cucumber and bell peppers, green and red. She will also try many new things. If she is unsure of something she will chew it up or suck on it and then just spit it out if she doesn't like it. Though it is a bit gross sometimes, I respect her willingness to try. She isn't shy about her love to eat either. She grabbed a cheese stick right out of Lora's hand this morning. It was difficult to explain how that is inappropriate.
She had a fun day today, so did I. She spent the morning at Miss Lora's with Cal and Aiden. She LOVES it there! When I drop her off she disappears and doesn't even notice I am not staying. I got to teach an Imagine That class (one of my favorites.. maybe my favorite) then we went to lunch bunch with MOMS club at the mall. It's so nice to spend time with other moms and socialize and let Alexandra wear herself out playing with her friends. Then we had a slow afternoon- Alexandra played with her doll, colored, and watched doggies (Lady and the Tramp) and I cleared out my email- yipes, worked on the budget, did some MOMS club stuff and made dinner. Tonight I get to go to choir practice:) I guess Im in a good mood for some reason... I have to say I LOOOVE this weather! I think tomorrow is a picnic day.

Petting Zoo and ABC's

While Gramma Susie was here we went to Houston to see Uncle Scott (and Sarah and Cocoa) which is one entity in Alexandra's mind. We went to the Houston zoo and had a hot but fun time.

This was taken at Scott's table. After this she repeated the song about 100 times!

Gamma Susie Comes to Town

Gamma Susie came to visit Wed. We suprised her by coming with Lauren to pick her up in Austin. Alexandra has been having a blast playing dress up and hanging out with Gramma. See Flickr for more photos.

Hot Shots Alexandra's First Soccer Practice

She was a star! Running and playing she had a blast and it was a beautiful day for it. Especially since it rained yesterday so there was plenty of mud! I explained that she was now a real soccer player when she fell in the mud, which she did not like. After a while she asked to play at the playground, for a snack, and to be held, but she did really well as you can see.

Our New Home

In April we bought a much anticipated new home which never really got its due. I would like to take you on a little tour in case you can't visit.
As you walk in you are greeted by warm sunlight and plenty of open space. The bar is just to the left of where this picture ends. You can just see the dining room table there.

Then you come into the kitchen/dining area. We liked the width and openness of the kitchen. It makes it a lot easier to cook and keep an eye on the toddler:)This is looking back at the living room. David's dream of a flat screen with no wires has come true. It looks pretty cool if I say so myself and really gives us even more space. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and we just love the neighborhood. I have been woken up in the middle of the night a few times by noisy parties but they usually quiet down. Plus the park is a block away and the hospital is only a few miles away, which is where our new doctor's office is. We love our new home!

Baby Numero Dos

There's a baby in there! We had our first doctor appointment on Monday and it went quite well. I met a new doctor who I liked very much and we confirmed the due date (April 3) and the baby looked great. A strong heart beat is all we can ask at this point. I have been feeling a little better lately- I was feeling very sick. Now it's more the exhaustion that is getting me. I am determined to continue walking 2 miles everyday (almost) and I am trying to get Alexandra out and about.

It has been such a wonder to experience pregnancy a second time. This time I really feel that pregnancy and birth are more of a means to an end rather than the first time when the novelty of the pregnancy kept all my attention. This time Alexandra is constantly on my lap or kissing me or hanging on me to remind me that soon this will all be a memory. I still believe pregnancy and birth are important and defining moments in my life, however I feel much more prepared to handle the struggles and disappointments. I can just hug my little "former pregnancy" and remember that I have a lifetime of joy ahead of me.
