AHG stencil tote

We are working on the creative crafts badge in AHG.  She did origami last week and next week is clay sculpture.  But we missed the week when they did stenciling.  So we are doing it at home.
I had a cool idea to make an AHG logo stencil. We used a fun tool my awesome MIL have me.  I printed a large logo and traced it with a marker onto a "make your own stencil" sheet I got at Wal-Mart.
Then I got to use my toy the shape express cutter
I think it turned out great.  Tomorrow we'll do the other side and make sure the stencil isn't upside down.

July 8th- Alexandra's 7th Birthday Party with Friends

The morning began with some new roller blades- which were unexpected both because we hadn't talked about it and she was getting her ears pierced as her birthday gift.  It was fun to surprise her :)

Then it was time to bust out the face paint from the family party.  Birthday girl gets what she wants!

Then swim practice (5 days a week! No wonder she has made so much improvement this summer!)

Then off to the mall for lunch and bungee jump.  And Grandmommy made the girls dream come true.  A bag of candy from the bulk candy selection!!

Then around 3 her friends came over and we headed to the children's museum.

Oops!

Sh! Don't tell them they are probably learning!

Then dinner- chicken nuggets and fries.  Followed by 6:30 mass (said for Alexandra) -the girls were so good!  Sweet little angels.  Then off to the pool.

When we got home we had cake and watched a movie- can you guess which?  Frozen of course!  The girls turned it into a singalong.

I was glad to hear a little giggling and whispering after the movie but hopefully they did get some rest.  I know my girl could use a nap today.

Hannah enjoying our birthday tradition- sugary cereal!  Who doesn't want candy for breakfast? :)
I think Alexandra had a pretty special birthday.  She said it was the best ever so I will take that as a success.  Thanks to her family and friends- we have marked another year!

4th of July and Birthday Week kickoff!

This weekend was wild!  Fourth of July and Alexandra's 7th Birthday Party "Family" version :)  She also had a swim meet and got her ears pierced!

Brave girl got her ears pierced.  She has been asking for a long time and it seemed like time.  She was scared and said it hurt but when she realized it was over she was very excited. She can't wait to be able to switch earrings.
Nobody knows how to enjoy ice cream like Hannah!

Day after birthday party

It's so much fun to play with Alexandra's new toys!  She likes getting her face painted but loves to do it herself. And to paint others faces!  Thank your aunt Lauren :-)

October 2012 Already

Stuck in the mud on the farm.
 Lunch with friends at Canes.
Oh yeah and we also do lessons. :) I thought she looked very studious here.
 "Recess"
She can spend hours beading.  She has made many things including jewelry and little creatures.

My 30th birthday at Chuy's.  I should have taken a picture at the lovely party I was given.  It was so beautiful to be surrounded by by friends and family!

Road trip to Hondo to see my cousin play volleyball.
Alexandra's 5 year checkup- practically perfect in every way.
 Alexandra is the teacher now!

Couldn't quite get Hannah to pose for this shot :)
Trip to Emma Long State Park with Grandad.
Feast of St. Francis of Assisi blessing of animals.

Playing with cousins at McDonalds after a soccer game.

 Tour of Blue Baker

Followed by playing at the park at the Arboretum.

Another beautiful morning at the farm.  Boy are we enjoying fall- it was so nice and cool that morning.

We try to go to daily mass at least once a week.  Afterwards the girls enjoy praying (and playing) at the walking rosary at St. Margaret Mary's.
This past weekend we went to The Fall Festival at the Y.  That evening Alexandra and I hear Mozart's Requiem at St. Williams.

So that pretty much covers September and October.  Tomorrow we will complete week 16 of our 32 week syllabus.  Alexandra has finished much of the work in our syllabus so we will start first grade math soon.  She is already reading easy readers and writes very well.  She loves to write letters to people.  Her newest hobby is writing books, mostly about butterflies.  I am excited about the spring semester- hopefully we can do a garden and start doing a preschool curriculum with Hannah. Since she will be 3!

Hannah's latest news is that she is potty trained!  A couple of days ago she showed an interest in wearing her panties and suddenly she was going all the time.  Even number two!  You can imagine how excited I was!  Hannah is getting plenty of candy as reward :)  I am pretty sure that was what motivates her.  She is also talking more and more clearly.  She loves to sing and pretend to be a kitty.  She will play pretend with her little people for great lengths of time happily making her people talk and play.
This is their newest game in case you didn't see it on Facebook.
